Thrift Store Confidential

I recently came across an amazing website and I wanted to share it with everyone!

It's called Thrift Store Confidential!!!

There's a blog that gives you all kinds of info regarding thrifting...a section called "Getting Started, Introduction to thrift store shopping", "Links you'll love", "Get Involved", and a NYC Thrift Store Directory!  Not to mention a "Thrift Store Tour!!!!!"

Nicole runs the site and seems to be a regular person just like you and me but a genius when it comes to thrifting!

I hope you enjoy her site as much as I have and have plans to enjoy even more on our trip real soon to NYC!

Look out NY thrift stores, here I come!!!!!

Our little baby turned 2!

I can't believe it has already happened!  Clarissa turned two February 13!  It happened so fast we almost missed it!!!!  We had a great birthday party Saturday, Yo Gabba Gabba theme with games, cupcakes, and #2 cookies!  She had so much fun!!!!  Then Monday, Scott and I got off work early to pick up the Pnut and celebrate her birthday again since it was really not her birthday until yesterday.  We had her tricycle put together and downstairs waiting on her with a bag of some other treasures to go with it.  I think she liked the $5 voice altering microphone more than anything...funny girl.  It was a busy weekend and Monday so it was a little hard for her to get to sleep last night.  She just couldn't get cupcakes and presents off her mind!  I'm that way too sometimes!
Scooting around getting the hang of it!

Not quite sure what to think about her new tricycle...

Checking it out.

Push it daddy!

Push it daddy!

Push it this way daddy!

I think she really enjoyed checking it out more than riding it for now.

Staff meeting notebook

Being a legal secretary can be tedious and somewhat mundane from time to time. So I decided to spice things up a little and make little collages in my staff meeting notebook!
Now of course not every page is like this, I have to take some notes!

101 things to do with your toddler

Because I am a working mom, my time with our little girl is limited.  When we are together I try to spend as much time with her as possible and try to keep daily tasks and chores to a minimum.  Although I want her to learn that these tasks and chores are important I also want her to learn that life is fun and we have to do a little of both work and play to make it work and create a balance in order to be happy.

Sometimes I worry that I shouldn't work, but I have realized that she has learned so much from going to school. Things that I don't think she would know now if she were staying at home with me.  I also believe that her seeing me and her daddy getting ready to go to work everyday, eventually will teach her to understand why we do what we do and have a good work ethic...at least I hope so!  At any rate, here's a list I found on a mommy blog.  The real credit goes to the forums of The Mommies Network.

Simple Diary today says...

Date:  January 19, 2012

Your day was (only choose one)
(  ) irresistible.
(  ) recluive.
(X) listening.

Explain why:  went to a lunch event and met people that I didn't know so I always like to study their faces and listen to them talk.

And time stood still: as I listen to some of them cause I get distracted by features on their face.

A sunrise has no stage fright.
